HOW IT BEGAN
-
The Williamsburg Craft Beer Festival began in 2014 when the Aspire Young Professionals (formerly YEP) joined forces with The Rotary Club of Williamsburg to develop a large-scale fundraising and development event that could benefit local non-profits while also attracting the attention of some of the Historic Triangle’s younger residents. The partnership between the two organizations was a perfect fit from the start, as both held shared missions of generating community outreach and engagement among other civic, business, and social goals
-
This attractive, but under-utilized park, perfectly fit the Festival’s early needs. The first festival featured 20 beers on tap, raised $11,000 for four local non-profits, and welcomed an estimated 750 guests. In the five years that followed, the festival grew significantly, including a major expansion in 2018 to include the lawn outside of the Williamsburg Community Building to accommodate larger crowds and additional amenities in conjunction with its participation in culturefix’s Scrumptious weekend.
-
100% of all proceeds from the Williamsburg Craft Beer Fest always go directly back into the community through our partner non-profits. Plans are currently underway for the 2025 festival, so stay tuned for more details on our plans to make year TEN the best yet!
