At Colonial CASA, we advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect, providing support that extends not just to the child, but also to their parents, extended family, educators, and the broader community. Our work strengthens families, keeps children safe, and ensures they are placed in stable, supportive environments where they can thrive. Literacy for Life is an adult literacy organization that provides free programs to the Virginia Peninsula area, where over 30,000 potential community members need our services live. Programs we offer include more than just the basics of reading and writing, we also offer health literacy (helping with how to communicate with a medical professional, read prescriptions, and more), digital literacy (communicating and using devices, computers, programs, etc.), financial literacy (banking, budgeting, planning for retirement, and more), and workplace literacy.

As a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Thread Local Charities provides the people of Williamsburg, VA and surrounding areas with an alternative to the larger clothing donation organizations. TLC promises to honor your goodwill and keep usable clothes local. All donated clothes are quickly sorted and distributed to our local community partners and local community members in need in an effort to reduce the amount of clothing that gets thrown away.

Meals on Wheels serves over 65,000 meals a year daily, Monday-Friday, to seniors and differently abled residents of the Greater Williamsburg area for 50 years. We serve hot, nutritious daily noon meals to seniors throughout the area, as well as dinners to families in temporary housing, meals and snacks to school-aged children during the summer breaks, and shelf-stable goods and prepared meals for holidays and other special occasions.
